Handling Uncertainty

When you begin your software career there is little uncertainty. What you need to do is well defined, 'fix this bug', 'add this button'. Each step on your career ladder leads to higher and higher levels of uncertainly - from 'how are we going to implement this', to 'is this the right thing to implement', all the way through to CTO level 'is this the right strategic direction for the company?'. The decisions become multi-faceted with no simple answers.
